50- Bed Tertiary Cancer Care Centre | Radiation Oncology | Surgical Oncology & Integrated Inpatient Care

Bhagyalakshmi Cancer Care Hospital, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is an ongoing 50-bedded tertiary cancer-care centre designed to provide affordable and accessible oncology treatment in the region. The project addresses the need for local cancer care, reducing the burden of travel, cost, and delayed treatment for patients who otherwise depend on larger cities. The project, led by Gajendra Singh Sisodiya and MiteshSonegara, aligns with government healthcare initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, aiming to strengthen regional oncology infrastructure and improve access to advanced treatment in Jodhpur.

AMRD’s planning study focused on the feasibility of a compact, vertically organised cancer hospital on a 3230 sq.m. built-up area, integrating radiation, surgical, diagnostic, and inpatient services within a single efficient system.

The hospital is organised through vertical zoning. The basement houses a single radiation bunker and radiology services. The ground floor includes the Emergency Department, OPDs, and pharmacy. The first floor contains operation theatres, ICU, recovery, CSSD, procedure room, and day care, forming the core surgical and critical-care zone. The second floor accommodates 50-bedded inpatient wards, while the third floor includes additional wards and administrative spaces.

The design prioritises efficient clinical flow by clustering interdependent departments such as OT–ICU–Recovery–CSSD, while separating high-footfall outpatient areas from inpatient zones. This ensures smooth patient movement and effective hospital operations.

Beyond its clinical framework, the project aims to reduce patient migration to metro cities, lower treatment-related costs, and strengthen Jodhpur’s position as a regional healthcare hub.

Bhagyalakshmi Cancer Care Hospital reflects AMRD’s integrated approach, combining clinical planning, functional efficiency, and social impact to create a comprehensive cancer-care facility for the region.
