Speciality Hospital | Oncology & Haematology Care | Compact Clinical Planning
Located in Surat, Gujarat, the Blood & Cancer Institute is a 10-bed speciality hospital completed in 2024 for Dr.DharmeshVaghasiya, developed within an approximate built-up area of 300sq.m. The project is conceived as a compact yet highly efficient clinical facility integrating consultation, diagnostics, treatment support, research, and inpatient care within a tightly optimised spatial framework.
AMRD’s planning approach focuses on maximising functional efficiency within the limited footprint while ensuring clear and logical relationships between outpatient consultation, diagnostic services, and inpatient care. The hospital integrates reception and waiting areas, pharmacy, pathology laboratory, two OPDs with dedicated history-taking rooms, a four-bed ward, a research facility, one twin-sharing room, and one deluxe room.
The spatial organisation enables seamless coordination between consultation, laboratory diagnostics, and inpatient treatment while maintaining patient privacy and efficient clinical circulation. Despite its compact scale, the design ensures that all essential oncology and haematology support functions operate in close proximity, improving turnaround time for diagnosis and care delivery.
The project demonstrates how specialised cancer and blood disorder treatment services can be effectively accommodated within a constrained 300sq.m. footprint, without compromising clinical functionality or patient comfort.
On completion, the Blood & Cancer Institute provides a focused environment for specialist consultation, diagnostic evaluation, treatment support, and short-stay inpatient care, delivered through a compact and efficiently planned healthcare facility.
